There's much to like about St. John's and our service to the Lord. Below are a small sampling of our many ministries.
Holy Communion - The Lord's Supper
The Holy Communion represents the greatest expression of God’s love for His people. Two items are used in the Holy Communion—the bread which is Jesus’ body that was scourged and broken before and during His crucifixion, and the cup which is His shed blood.
All baptized believers, including guests, are invited to receive communion.
Men & Women's Groups
St. John's maintains active Men's and Women's Groups which meet regularly for both social events and community service. These groups support several events each year including traditional dinners, Fausnacht festival, and Chicken BBQ. Come out and be surprised by the friendliness of our members.
Sunday School is held at 10:30AM right after our 9:30AM service. All age groups are invited.
Our FM Radio Station - Hope 94.5
Operating out of St. John's, WVHO broadcasts the best Christian Rock 24 Hours a Day! The Lutheran Hour is scheduled each Sunday at 11AM with an encore broadcast Wednesdays at 6PM. Listen in for current events! Contact us on the Web at: WVHO945@gmail.com
Music is an important and uplifting
part of our worship service. Radio ministry and mini concerts also provide opportunities to enjoy and socialize through Christian music.
Our extraordinary Music Ministers are:
Marcia Cromwell, organ, and Stefanie Rybitski, soloist.
St. John's has founded and is active in the Nanticoke Clergy Group, sponsoring ecumenical services and events in the community.
A Youth Day Camp is often held in the summer.
Our groups routinely reach out to our local library, fire department and garden clubs to offer help and support.
